Our Herd
Rosie the Assistant Barn Manager
Truth be told, Rosie, Lindsay’s daughter is really the boss around the barn. You can find Rosie helping sweep the aisle, feeding the “neigh neighs” and kissing them all goodnight.
Jack
Leader of the herd, Jack is a stoic but gentle Quarter Horse gelding. With a background in western pleasure, he takes his job seriously and is slow and steady. Jack is an excellent teacher and enjoys jumping and hitting the trails.
Maximus
Maximus aka “Max” is an Arabian Paint cross. He is owned by Elaine who so graciously shares him with the Windsong lesson program. Max has the calm brain of a paint horse but the athleticism of his Arabian bloodlines which makes him a well-balanced mount. He is kind, patient and a bonus that he looks like a real life unicorn. Max is learning to jump but in the meantime, loves flatwork, ground pole exercises and trail rides.
Sully the Mascot
Sullivan aka Sully is the barn mascot and greeter. This polka dot pup was rescued by Lindsay in Atlanta in 2013. The two of them went straight from the Humane Society to teaching riding lessons and the rest seems to be history. Sully can be seen keeping the horses in line, supervising lessons and chasing the occasional “sparkle” in the barn aisle.
Paddington
Paddington is a Quarter Horse gelding and the resident class clown. You can often see him making silly faces for attention in hopes of getting a peppermint. He is a favorite mount in the lesson program as he can carefully carry a beginner around on the lunge line, teach someone how to canter for the first time but is well-schooled enough to ride bravely around a jump course. Paddy is a been there, done that, unflappable mount which is perfect for someone looking to build their confidence.
Crouton
Crouton is a flashy large German Riding Pony. He has spunk for days and always trots like he is stepping into the show ring. Crouton is oozing with talent but takes a confident rider to pilot him. Crouton will be available for partial on-site lease Summer 2022.
Maple Stirrup
Maple Stirrup is our resident princess pony mare. She has just the right amount of sass to bring our petite up and coming riders to the next level. She LOVES to go to horse shows because everyone tells her how pretty she is.
